What is a HMO?
A HMO is a multiple tenancy property which is rented to three or more people who are not all from the same family. The property will have a shared communal area with shared facilities such as a kitchen and bathroom.
Why invest in a HMO?
There are many reasons why people want to invest in a HMO
1. Planning for a future pension
HMO’s can be an excellent opportunity to get long term monthly cashflow beginning immediately and own an asset which can later be sold or re-mortgaged to release equity. You may also benefit from capital growth over time.
2. Poor returns from the bank
If you have savings in the bank making very little interest, a HMO can be a great investment. They are often more profitable than other types of property investments, as there are several rental incomes within one household. They are therefore a great way to maximise rental yield and often exceed regular buy-to-let property yields.
3. Generational wealth
A HMO can be a great asset to pass down to your children through inheritance. This will provide them with the same benefits through monthly returns and equity.
4. Spreading risk
Rental void periods aren’t as significant in HMO’s, as income is still being received from other tenants who occupy the other let rooms. Additionally, the demand for affordable, flexible housing within busy cities or nearby suburbs is on the rise.
Who are we?
We are a dedicated team who are passionate about providing high quality homes for professionals and consistent returns for our clients.
Following extensive research, we have identified key localities within the UK where HMO’s thrive and are able to provide maximum yield. Within those areas we have developed strong community ties with local builders and management companies. This enables us to source, refurbish and let the best quality HMO’s, providing long term financial gains for our clients.
